Lena is a CPA with over 25 years of accounting experience across industries like manufacturing, oil & gas, and professional services. She currently serves as Vice President of Finance at a fast-growing software company, where she leads strategic financial planning and drives operational efficiency.
She founded Athena Bookkeeping Services to bring that same level of insight and precision to small business owners—people with big dreams who deserve reliable financial support. Lena believes that clarity, accuracy, and integrity are the foundation of good accounting, and she’s passionate about helping her clients thrive by taking the numbers off their plate.

In Lena's spare time, she enjoys hanging out with family, going to Zac Brown Band concerts, and traveling in the RV with Richard and their dog.
Richard brings more than 25 years of accounting and client service experience to Athena Bookkeeping Services. His career began in his family’s travel agency, where he handled the books and learned firsthand the value of small business stewardship. He went on to spend 23 years in the corporate world, managing client accounts for some of the largest names in the travel industry.
In 2023, Richard made the leap from corporate to co-lead Athena full time—driven by a desire to have a more direct impact on small business owners. As Managing Partner, he oversees internal operations, client onboarding, and workflow management to ensure our clients receive attentive, consistent, and high-quality service.
Richard is known for his calm demeanor, his dedication to process improvement, and his ability to simplify the complex. Clients trust him not just for his expertise, but for his reliability and heart.
Outside of work, you’ll find him spending time with family, playing golf, and exploring new places in the RV with Lena and their Jack Russell Terrier.
Amber Danley brings over 20 years of accounting expertise to Athena, with a career spanning public, private, and nonprofit sectors. As Director of Client Accounting, she leads our client financial operations with precision, depth, and a calm confidence that only comes from experience. Amber and Lena have worked together since 2014—across multiple companies and industries—building a professional bond grounded in trust, excellence, and shared standards.
Amber is known for her laser focus on the details and her ability to manage complex accounting workflows with efficiency and ease. Whether she’s closing books, leading audits, or streamlining processes, she delivers with integrity and care.
Outside of Athena, Amber is a proud mom of two and stays actively involved in their school community. She serves on the board of her children’s band organization and has volunteered in multiple positions with the PTO. She brings the same level of dedication to both her family and her work—and we’re lucky to have her on the team.
